Fitch/Dickman Foundation![]()
The Fitch-Dickman Foundation was announced during the 2011 Return Of The Robin tournament and is currently in it's development phase. The initial committee has been selected and is in the process of creating the operating procedures for the foundation. As more details of the foundation are clarified we will update this page to inform those that are interested. Major announcements will be made via Facebook. In conjunction with the foundation the Return Of The Robin also provides sponsorship for local youth by donations to local groups and organizations. For more about this activity use the link below. Who are we? We're just a bunch of guys and gals that grew up playing, coaching and observing youth sports. We can attribute much of who we are to the fun times of playing sports during our developmental years. Most of us still play in some way or another, and we feel like kids when we do. We feel like it is tie to give back to something that has given us so much. What are we trying to do? It is our goal to provide local underprivileged youth with a means to participate in a sport in which their family cannot afford. We will cover registration fees and equipment costs for a child in whichever sport they want to play. We will not simply write a check to the family. We will be involved in the entire process. A representative of the Robin will be present at registration and when purchasing equipment. The representative will be knowledgeable in the sport the child is interested in. Our representative will provide mentorship throughout the year to make sure the child is having a fun and memorable sporting experience. Why? "Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play." ~ Mike Singletary. Having fun was one of he best things about being a kid. For many of us, going out and playing a sport was one of the most enjoyable things we did as a child. We built lasting friendships, learned teamwork, to win with character, lose with dignity and built character. We don't want any child to miss out on joys of sports. Everyone should have a chance to play, even if they can't afford the rising costs. How do I recommend someone to the foundation? At this time we are currently establishing our foundation and process. If you have a immediate situation please contact us at registrations@returnoftherobin.com How Can I Help? It takes a village to raise a child indeed. This is so true for many aspects of family life. Not that we have to interfere with each others lives, but to be there when someone needs us. Our foundation will never cover the needs of our town no matter how many tournaments we hold. But we would like to help, in some way, to make a difference in the life of a child or two. If you would like to help us, you can volunteer to be a mentor and/or you may donate money to the foundation by using the PAYPAL link below.
