FEATURED TEAM 2008 - FLOOR CRAFT

The featured team for the 2008 Return of the Robin is a team that hast been returning year after year. Team Floor Craft is a group of true Minnesotan Ole'man Hockey players from the St. Paul area. "Floor Craft" has been playing in the Return of the Robin Tournament every year since the second year of existence, back in the early 1980's. (Because we don't remember the year probably explains why we're in the Fossils Division.)"

Floor Craft has been carving the ice in the Return of the Robin for 25 years. "We have seen the tournament evolve from 12 teams. We remember playing in the Rochester Recreation Center when it had only one rink, no seating on the east side, just a wall, and the locker rooms were located under the seating area on the west side of the current main rink" and they are still playing in the present 44 team format.

Floor Craft has won their share of ROTR championships over the years. (Wish I could remember which years. One year the Rochester mayor presented the trophy!) Win, lose, or draw, the ROTR has been a great time; otherwise we wouldn't have been here year after year.

There have been a number of people who have put in untold hours and sweat to make the ROTR a reality year after year, getting teams, ice time, referees, and putting on tournament parties, among other things. (One tournament party was even held on the top floor of the Kahler Hotel!) Also, the "Foundling Fathers" of the ROTR, "Stormin' Norman" Fitch, Keith DIckman, Al Bierly, come to mind, then "passing the torch" on to Ron Moffit, and then on to the current organizer, Bertt Landon, Jim McPeak, and Jay Sather and their army of volunteers.

Floor Craft team wants to say a heartfelt THANKS for all your hard work making the Return OF The Robin tournament the class event that it is year after year.
